I took some time over the holidays at the end of last year to start making simple games for practice. I first made a 0s and Xs game in ASP.NET.

I then started working on a Tetris game in html5 and javascript. So far I have managed to draw the pieces and get them to drop. My holiday ended after that and I haven’t felt motivated enough since then but I am happy with my attempts and I plan on finishing the Tetris game eventually. 3 months ago

I used to play games all the time as a child. It made me want to become a game developer.

Even though I have extensive programming experience I have never really tried to create my own game. I did try make a Tetris clone when I was still learning how to program but it didn’t work out very well because of my lack of experience.

I now have years of programming experience and I think it is time to start on this goal since it is something I have really wanted to do for such a long time.

My understanding is that you need to start out by making simple games and then move on to something harder so that is where I will start. 7 months ago
