learn Chinese brush painting

This is deffinately an art form. I played around with a kit I bought and it was fun but I don’t see myself doing anything more with it.

It’s so beautiful!

Made some pretty paintings the other night, still need to work on this though!

Still waiting for my art supplies to arrive! I’ve been doing pencil drawing for a long time as a hobby but my style is too stiff. I want to try something completely different, learn about new techniques and different media and find new aesthetic inspiration. And learn to relax. XD

I know how to do the basics but I want to see more techniques and more detailed instructions.

I took about three years of this when I was younger and had a grand time, although after a while I felt it was too structured. It did help, however, when I eventually got to uni and had to do plates for my major. Knowing how to do all sorts of very disciplined, controlled brush strokes helped me much more than I ever expected.

i prefer using india ink and nice tapered soft brushes instead of the sets that are sold in art stores.
