give to a charity

Just this past week I gave $100 to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation. It’s a lottery that they run…you give the money to the charity and they enter you in a chance to win all kinds of nice stuff. I feel good about giving the money, even though I can’t really afford it…the hospital needs it more than I do.

I am so broke right now..but I still managed to donate $5.00 to Amys Ovarian Cancer walk. Its not much…but its a start!!

I enrolled in a monthly donation program with the Canadian Cancer Society, and I will probably do the same for the David Suzuki foundation. Since I’ll keep on working during the school year this fall, I figure this would be the right time to give a little something back for research and the environment, two things I’ve always had at heart.

I’ll probably check out websites like United Way and the Humane society, where you can donate a small amount every month. I can’t stay very long on the latter, looking at all those pictures of pets needing a home!

Unfortunately I’ve been having so much debt trouble ever since I started working…funny how that works, my job actually brought me debt until I learned money management. But as soon as I get my butt outta debt, I’d like to donate money to a charity like something for cancer research or sick kids hospital.
