join peace corps

Vision: Will cost me $40, minus the $12 refund that they will send to me. Have not gone in to do it yet, will probably after I finish my dental.

Dental: One of my fillings is chipped in the back of my mouth. My dentist wants to fix it. $90. Other than that it is just keeping him convinced that I DO NOT need my wisdom teeth out.

Psych: Why do low-cost psychologists only want to see people with problems? So, sue me, I was not happy and now I am? Argh.

Physical: Three booster shots, check. Three blood draws. Check. Full physical. Check. Dang- this girl is healthy these days. Asthma exam taken care of.

Female stuff: All I need to do is actually get the records- hopefully they will be in the mail today :)

ET to finish my end of the medical stuff: 1 month.

Ahhh shoot- but I am out of town for a bunch of that. Um… maybe more like 2 months. :(

Woot.

I had my interview today. It was a fun one. It was nice to talk about myself, as weird as that is. The recruiter said that he would be submitting my nomination within the next month, and I should receive a nomination back within the next two months. Wheeee! Here we go.

... But the ball is still in my court. I have to get two more recommendations in, and go get finger printed. No wonder they say the process takes 9 months. My little pc baby :)

The peace corps has always interested me, ever since I was a sophomore in high school. I’m now working on three years out of high school and I find myself being a sophomore again and I’ve revisited the idea of the peace corps. I’m in love with the idea of going helping the world. So I’ve changed my major to hopefully get me a little of a shoe in. I also need to start to learn another language. I’ve been thinking about Morocco. so Arabic, French, and Spanish are the three languages I’m looking at. Maybe I’ll shoot the moon and just do all three.

I was thinking about doing this after college. However, if I can make it to medical school, it would be great to join Peace Corps as a doctor and be more useful to the sick.

I’ve wanted to do this since I was about 11 and I’m 20 now. I hope to go to Romania. Wish me luck!!

Wanted to do this since I was 8… applied ASAP and got a medical rejection for asthma. I guess I am on too many expensive meds for them to want to pay for it.

Therefore, I must get rid of my asthma, and apply again later.

I am tired of being asthmatic, anyway!
