Trauma_Junkieooops

I might have sent a letter in May. I know I did not in June. Finally sent one out this month (July). It appears I will be able to visit her in October for one Day. Exciting. I can not wait to see her. I just know though that about 6 hours will be plenty! 10 months ago

Trauma_JunkieApril with Easter

was covered. and May with Mothers day, covered. Whew! June…. 12 months ago

Trauma_JunkieI have totally failed on this.

I have had a pretty wild year. And one would think it would have been easy to write to Grandma, but I failed anyway.
I did send her a very nice Easter card this week. One thing that I have found is that since Grandma moved into Assisted Living she has been a total social butterfly. The director of the ALF told my parents when they visited that she had made a huge difference in the facility, since she daily visits some of the shut in people etc. once a Pastor’s wife, Always a Pastors Wife. My Grandma is incredible, at 95 she is still going strong. I will keep trying! 13 months ago

Trauma_JunkieAugust letter

in the mailbox. Whew.

Grandma’s home finally sold at a very low price, which is sad, but also ok because it is done.

She is moving into her new apartment in assisted living. This seems sad, but really I feel quite happy about it and apparently so does Grandma. Grandma is 94 years old, and I think she will enjoy being able to dine with others if she chooses, and not if she does not. Plus the assisted living people will help with shopping and the like, as she can not drive. This frees my Aunt up to do things in her life that she wants to do.
So letter focused on these things. yaaay for Grandma. 21 months ago

Trauma_Junkiefail

I had a lot of free time recovering from surgery to write Grandma letters, but I had no news. She sent me a photo of herself last week, and her eyes just pierced me with guilt. So I finally wrote a letter today and stuck it in the mailbox. I think she may get irritated to find I did indeed have my hip done and she knew nothing about it, but really she was not going to come take care of me, so there was nothing to tell.
Very glad I wrote off a letter in July. So She got one in May, none in June and one in July. Must be sure to do something before August is over. 22 months ago

FernwehI got a letter

from Grandma a couple of weeks ago with photos from my cousin’s confirmation, and some sightseeing they did in Switzerland.

I only got round to to getting back to her today as things have been a bit busy and I’ve been neglecting the non-essential items on my to-do list to focus on house hunting, the move, coursework and job applications.

I seem to be writing at least once per month, so the goal is working. I’m hoping to keep this up indefinitely though. 23 months ago

Trauma_Junkiemissed a few months there

just in laziness I expect, and in part because Grandma is irritating me no end. She can not live well at home alone. She is 94 and my Aunt is having to try and try to convince her to go to assisted living.

I did send her a Mothers day card and I feel slightly guilty about it as well, primarily because there was so much glitter on the card, I barely had space for a message, which was in a way good, but in a way it looked bad too.

Poor Grandma. I just wish at this point she would understand that her desire to save money by not going into assisted living is starting to wear on the family too much. 2 years ago
