Get Skype

is where my BFF is staying, studying abroad. I need to get skype up and running so I can talk to her.

When I was out in Thailand and my bank rather nicely decided to block my cash cards so I couldn’t use it the only way I could afford to call them to get it sorted was by using Skype – the hour of phone calls cost me next to nothing on Skype but would have cost a huge amount of money if I’d used regular phones. And having to spend money on phone calls is tricky when your trying to call because you can’t get any – so it worked out very well for me.

I’m in the process of setting the rest of my family up with it so when I’m travelling I can talk to them for free, rather then waste my limited funds on phone calls home.

When she decided to get DSL for her home-office. She uses it twice a week to talk to one of her sisters in England, and to keep in touch with the others, along with a few other family members who are dotted around the world.

It was nice being able to both see and talk to my sister on New Year’s Eve, when she was out of town. :)

It’s ridiculous in this day and age to be paying £11 a month for the privilege of having a fixed phone line in my house that I almost never use! If I’m phoning out, I’ll use my free minutes on my mobile (unless it’s an 0845 number, but I don’t phone £11 worth of those in a month anyway!), so the landline is purely for my dad phoning me. I can make him get Skype, too!

Added benefit: no more stupid bloddy marketing-type phonecalls! Grrr!!

Better than an actual phone. Better than my phone, anyway, which is rubbish. Skype Out, where you phone to a landline or mobile, ain’t so hot – the sound quality’s a bit off, though it is cheaper than calling from a phone phone. But PC-to-PC Skype is crystal clear and free, so it’s class for hanging out for hours with no wallet constraints. All my 43T friends should get it and look me up. It’s the future!

Seeing as it’s free. Only one person I know has it, and she’s out. Balls.
