I want to find my father

I was 13 when my mom told me that the man that I always thought was my father wasn’t. It didn’t really bother me; he was a drunk that I had only seen on a few occasions. But he had gone missing and no one has seen him in years. I’m a freshman in college now and each year I find myself more and more interested to know who my father is. Apparently I met him when I was about 2 or 3 years old, but I don’t remember his face or his eyes, his voice, his smell- anything other than the fact that he said I looked like Ice Cube (a rapper) and I got really mad. Not much to go on! About 2 years ago, my mom and I ran into his brother, my uncle. He was a really nice guy. I’ve seen him twice on the loop with a big group of men but I don’t say anything to him anymore. I tried once but when I started to talk to him, he just looked at me blankly- he didn’t recognize me and I didn’t want to make the situation any more awkward. A few years before that, my dad’s sister, my aunt, contacted me. I talked to her on the phone a few times and I really liked her too. She gave me her address and told me I was welcomed to come over whenever I pleased. I went to the address that she had given me only to find out that they tore her apartment building down. So, here I am, trying to find the other half of my family. I’ve done some research on my father and I have found out everything that they will give me for free; his birthday, his relatives and his criminal history. He killed a baby, his baby, by shaking him to death when I was little girl, which is a huge reason why my mom didn’t want me around him. Come to think of it, I remember my mom crying really bad when she saw the story on the news but I don’t remember a face. That kills me. I would just like to know who he is. I’m not looking to make up for lost time. Obviously he doesn’t want to know who I am, but I just want to know what he looks like. I think he owes me that much.

I am currently away from home in college but my father and his brother and sister live in the St. Louis area. My dad’s name is Eric Tyrone Lamar Lee. He is 38 years old and his birthday is between December 21st and the 23rd-sorry, i forgot the exact date! He is a black male, about 5’5. His brother is named Reginald Lamont Lee, but people call him Red, Reggie or Angel. He is a light skinned black male, about 5’10 or so with pale blue eyes. He has gold teeth and lots of tattoos and one on his neck with his girlfriend’s name: Lisa. My dad’s sister is named Martina Lee and she used to live off of Grand in Peabody Apartments. Please, please, please! If you know them, tell me! My dad has lots of kids, mostly girls. I recently found out that he has a daughter a few months older than me in Louisiana. Well my names laura and I’m 15 I was born in colombia but raised in ny…my life is preety much perfect I have amazing friends,boyfriend,great social life to lol but the only thing that isint perfect is that I don’t know who my real father is my mom and her family preety much bash him all the time and make him sound bad but when I went to colombia I heard the complete opposite even though the only thing that is true on both sides is that he was involved in colombian cartels…he said his name was ’’douglas’’ but my mom once went looking for his papers in colombia and there was noone by that name…he had tld my mom that he had family in england or spaon somewere over there…ppl have tld my mom that he is probaly dead others say that he’s in jail in germany and others say he in hideing…the maid once tld me that he had searched for me I tld my grandma and aunts about it and the next time I went to colombia she had been fired :( I most likely have a bunch of brothers and sisiters my father was a womanizer I’ve also heard well if anyone can help just shout out to me…

I found my missing father about 14 years ago when I was 19. I met him and it was an interesting experience. It helped resolve a lot of issues I had and a lot of questions. We still keep in touch, but not as much as we would have it he had raised me or had known me growing up. It’s still weird when he calls me son, but at least now he makes an effort to call me, instead of me calling him.
