I guess I don’t really care enough at this point.

I think I’ve eaten at many of the restaurants in that area; Some I wouldn’t return to…
HAVE FUN!
Squirrel Hunter is not feeling it today...
If I lived anywhere near Seattle!
I lived on 2nd and Blanchard for 6 years – being the restaurant whore that I am – I sure do miss those places, and it makes me happy to see the names of them again! Ohanas has great sushi and a super-fun vibe – add that sushi spot to your life!
Living on the edge of Belltown, I still hang out at Hale’s instead of going out closer to home.
Saito’s is my favorite sushi spot on the 2nd St strip. Not as trendy as Wasabi Bistro, not as crowded as Shiro’s, I like its atmosphere the best, not to mention that the owner/chef is my namesake, or I’m his. Walking distance to my apartment doesn’t hurt either. It’s nearly always in a moderately crowded state, with at least one open table on either side of you, quite a pleasant change from a prior life in NYC. There is an asian eggplant appetizer that’s worth a try for the exquisite sauce, let alone the succulent eggplant. Also, the black cod and fried yellowtail cheeks are great cooked entrees.

Turf is scary.. anyone want to go with me for moral support?
I once tried to eat at every restaurant on Broadway, starting at Taco Guaymas near Pike and working past The Mongolian Grill until running smack into The Hollywood Hamburger Company or something to that effect. This was in my pre-vegetarian days, but I still couldn’t muster the courage to eat here. First, there was the awful decor- awkward high cocktail tables overlooked by purple walls splashed here or there with fake film memorabilia. The space was cramped, and the menu hung menacingly low. Second, the place was only a few blocks from Dick’s; I’m rarely one to pass up cheaper and better. The end result was my complete failure to complete the Broadway eating challenge. Hollywood Burgers has since gone out of business, but has been replaced by a Thai restaurant which features a life size rickshaw thing. I can’t stomach that either, and I think by now I’ve eaten at all the good places Broadway can boast. The Bell and Pike challenge would be a fresh slate, without the taint of past failure, and I’m always up for a taintless challenge.
