I was extremely lucky enough to eat in The Ivy back in February. I have a best mate who works there and was able to get book a table one day before i went to visit him.
There was no celebrities dining at lunch when I went but in a funny way it was as if me and my friend were VIP’s as we got some free extras such as some savoury starters and also some sorbets before the main dessert and I was personally greeted by the manager.
For starters I had duck and watercress salad which was delicious. Main course I had Cod and for dessert some honeycomb ice cream. All of the food was fantastic. The waiters were also really friendly and would check the meal was O.K and also topped up my drink when I was running low.
It wasn’t quite what I was expecting but it was a brilliant experience. It’s a shame my mate is leaving soon but I will defintly go back again. I was also expecting the food o be expensive but I had a three course meal, two beers and large bottle of water for a little under 40 quid which isn’t bad at all for a restaurant of that calibre.
Can’t wait to hopefully take my girlfriend sometime this year. You should definetly go there at least once.
