The first step is (was) to get licensed as an EMT-B. That’s been accomplished, and now I need to get some street time for “real experience” before even considering going to paramedic school.
Fortunately, I’ve finally been able to get in touch with the right people so that I can do so. I can start getting ride time with the fire department as soon as I get appropriate clothing: tech pants, shirt, jacket (all without decoration. That being said, the Star of Life logo and/or the term EMS is acceptable… I asked).
Additionally, just for fun, I can take PHTLS at a local hospital in MAy.
