Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

loveinthecureThe Information has been sent out...

I sent the following out via email to my family/friends:

I am starting something new in 2010 – a goal of having friends and
family over on the first Friday’s of select months in the year. Come on over after work (6:00ish) with your family or friends and hang out at the loveinthecures home. We will eat potluck style and just engage in whatever we feel like doing that night (games, movies, talking, baking, singing/making music, etc.). We are just hoping to have some major fun each time and use this as a way to get to know everyone more, and to not just see everyone at holiday’s or birthday’s. We hope you can join us once or twice or each time if possible. Just RSVP the Monday before so we can be sure to make room.

If you have questions please let me know. Kids are definitely
included and bring a friend if you’d like.

The 9 Friday’s that we have reserved in 2010 are:
February 5
March 5
April 2
May 7
June 4
September 3
October 1
November 5
December 3 (Annual Holiday Craft Open House) 4 years ago

loveinthecureFun First Fridays

will commence in 2010. The idea is that I’m inviting everyone over to my house for potluck on Friday night some of the first friday’s of the month. We’ll watch a movie maybe one time, play a game or two or just sit around and talk, or do some arts and crafts, or or or or who knows what! I am going to send out fliers via email and regular mail to everyone and see who decides to come.

This will allow me to have friends and family over on a regular basis and I wont just see people during the holidays or birthday’s only.

We’ll see how it goes. 5 years ago
