Go back to Italy

I’ve been to Italy twice in my life; once for a 2-week stay with my family, and once for a month working at the beginning of my gap year. I wish I’d been able to stay longer and explore more. I’m planning a trip with friends in September, before 2nd year of uni starts; hopefully we can all agree on a place we like. :)

Now I’m single again I figured I have no excuse not to do this. I’ve been in contact with an old friend, have some dates in mind (waiting for conf of dates for another trip before I put anything in concrete) and have bought the Italy lonely planet book:)

The plan is to go for about 10 days, stay with my friend for a few of them, then hit Florence and the surrounding area. I’d like to be free to play it by ear a bit but I’m doing some research for some general ideas :)

I was in Italy in 2004 for almost a year. I want to go back there and start again my aborted life project.

I went as a child, and although I believe I appreciated the culture then, I certainly didn’t appreciate the night-life as I have come to enjoy :)

I’d like to head back to Italy sometime soon, when I’m able to afford it (I just started a new job)... and spend some real time (and dineros) exploring the land!

Italy was fantastic. I hitchhiked from Switzerland to Milan, took a train to Rome. Hooked up with a buddy and his bike which we rode together to Venice and over to Yugoslavia. Italy is so beautiful, great food and wine, so much history and culture. The Italian people are the warmest, most big hearted people in the world. We were constanly invited home for a family feast (and of course to meet the unmarried daughter). I love Italy and Italians. I really should learn more of the language.

i’ve been on holiday in italy at least 15 times… also this summer.. and it was the best damn holiday i’ve ever had… i wanna go back :(

I fell in love with Italy. Wish I could live there.

i went back this past feb. and it was awesome!!!! i missed it so much! yay!
