lilmissajeanThe first step of this, I guess, would be to come up with a description.
This will probably take more than one post because my vision of the ideal me is complex, just like me. There are a few things though that I can immediately do to become who I imagine myself to be…
-Shop in used and vintage clothing stores. It’s all fine and dandy to shop at fossil and spend $90 on a dress that looks vintage and sort of hippie, but wouldn’t it be better to find something authentic and a lot cheaper?
-Stop being concerned about the way certain body positions make my body look. Now, I’m not going to start slumping and sitting with my legs wide open, but I would like to sit down and not be concerned whether or not I have a tummy bulge or if my legs have celulite if they are crossed. I’m a free-spirit. And free-spirited people don’t worry about those sorts of things. I’ve got a beautiful body. No need to stress out about it.
-Tone my arms. I used to have great arms and shoulders. I was obsessed with working out back then though. I don’t want the mental anguish I had put on myself back then about not having the perfect body, but I do want to freely and happily work out again. Because it makes me feel good.
-Never wear fake nails again. Gross. I don’t know why I ever did before anyway. I’m not one of those kind of girls anyway. And the thought of all the nasty stuff that we touch on a daily basis making their home among the pourous surface of acrylic nails… Bleh! I will paint my nails funky colors or leave them plain and if my girlfriends want a mani/pedi day, that’s fine, I’ll just get the old fashioned pampering with simple polish.
-Never wear diamond jewelry. I just don’t want to wear some sort of rock that probably cost someone their life, or a child’s arm. If you don’t know what I’m talking about you should do some research on blood diamonds. There is no way to stop this violence, even by buying “conflict free diamonds”, other than diminishing the value of this natural stone made by the earth (just like all other stones). Mood rings… they’re the new diamond rings lol
-Go makeup free more often.
-Wear more shirts of bands that I like. I don’t know why this is important, but I guess it could be a conversation starter for people who have the same music taste as I do.
This is just a start. And some of these things I already do in some way. I just don’t want to look like a preschool teacher anymore. 2 years ago
