My room isn’t that bad, but it does need to be cleaned somewhat… :\
How to have a clean room
How I did it: Take it one step at a time...don't try to tackle your whole room at once. Break it up into portions: dresser, closet, clothes, shoes, accessories...etc. For example, I have two dressers, a large nightstand (with three drawers) and a good sized closet....and under my bed, there is alot of storage as well. So I just took one thing per week and tried to sort through it. If you need more time..it's no big deal..it's better to be thorough about the cleansing process rather than to have to go back and do it again in just a couple weeks. Also...it helps to purchase or make organizers. I used some xerox boxes that were laying around and bought a couple of bins to help keep me organized. the boxes were then filled with seasonal things like snow pants, jackets and beach stuff...like extra towels that I didn't use all the time, but wanted to keep for vacations and such. I also bought a couple of shoe racks to help me out and a sweater/shirt organizer for my closet. A coat rack is great because I wear alot of different sweaters and don't always feel like hanging them...this way I could just slip it on a prong instead of throwing it on the floor or under my bed.
Lessons & tips: Start with little things....knick knacks and such. If you have more than one of something that is completely unnecessary put it in a bag. Once you've done that with all the little stuff...start with other things...eventually you want to fill one or several bags and donate to the salvation army or goodwill....or even to your friends, but only if you know that they will USE it. Otherwise...they'll start their own little cluttered room.
Resources: Really with anything you're trying to accomplish...you just have to reward yourself after completely a portion of it. Make a schedule of what you want to have done by a certain date....and remember to space it all out.

Im sleeping in here again so i guess that counts for something right?
Still have alot to go, but im taking Sall steps and slowly reaching my goal, Havign a social life and Just starting Highschool really makes it much harder though
Jackislikeaprayer is a fighter
I started cleaning it yesterday, still have TONS of work to do, but at least I’m now able to walk to my bed, rather than hop over piles of random crap.
It seems no matter how hard I try, i can NEVER Keep it Clean!!!
so, Since Highschool is starting, Im Turning over a new leaf!! being Neat, and Organized…...well, as close asI can to it XD
I just washed my bed sheets, and my floor is semi-clean. I still have alot of miscellaneous boxes with junk in them randomly placed around my room though. But I finally have a pathway through my room! And I finally gathered most of my recycling! That takes up alot of room- you’ve got your old school projects, and past papers, some random notes reminding me to do this and that (written to me, from me)....and just other crap that is, i mean, was occupying space. WOOHOO! I feel better already! Now I’ve only got one more dresser, my nightstand, and underneath my bed…oh and those random boxes too….
=)
I would say at least 1/3 of my room is organized to my liking. I’ve finally put all of my clothes in the drawer, hung them in the closet or thrown them in the hamper! I’ve also got a Goodwill bag started with things I know I don’t need or will never wear. :)
So I think having a messy room kind of puts me in a down mood. I see all of my stuff scattered about and it just makes me ill. I have a pretty small room with large furniture. I can’t just buy new furniture either. But I hate giving up my stuff….I’m definitely a pack rat. But I’m working on it!
It feels so good to have a clean room. My room (at my parents and my other residence) has generally been clean now that I organized it several months ago.
There always stuff around, but nothing a few minutes of placing things can’t organize.
I can’t explain how great of a feeling it is. Haha.
Again with the disc prolapse – I’ve been dumping stuff I’ve used and read near my bed, because it’s just too damn hard to keep getting up and putting it away and getting back it. At least, it’s been quite hard. Now I’m much better, so I need to get my room back to it’s old, organized state. It’s as bad a mess as it gets, right now! I was thinking starting on it this evening, seeing as I’m getting my studies and other stuff organized too, today.
SuperAngie is ready for a productive week!
My room is not perfectly clean, but it’s been almost two months, and it’s SO MUCH cleaner than when I first chose this goal. I now have the following habits:
-putting laundry away as soon as it’s clean (this is the big one, laundry used to contribute the most to the messiness)
-hanging up my clothes after I take them off
-putting dirty laundry into the appropriate laundry bag instead of making a huge pile
-picking up/hanging up my husband’s clothes if they’re on the floor instead of waiting for him to do it or getting mad about it :)
I am not perfect about these habits, but if I miss a day, I usually get it the next day, instead of letting everything pile up until it’s unsafe/unhealthy/unbearable.
I love having a clean room. It makes me feel so much more relaxed when I wake up. I don’t have to trip over things on the floor and I don’t start my day thinking, “What a mess. I have so much to do!” I like how my room looks now. I can leave the door open, and I’m not embarrassed if somebody catches a glimpse.
My clean room makes me happy! Next step, the kitchen!
