How to do a one-arm pushup
How I did it: I started taking the hundred push-up challenge (hundredpushups.com)
about four weeks ago. I'm now doing a little over 100 push-ups every
other night. Tonight I decided to try if I could do a one handed
push-up and low and behold I could. They are still very difficult, but
now I should be able to work on increasing the sets.

Continuing to work on this by first perfecting my regular push-ups and building strength to where I can knock out several dozen without too much effort. Not there yet. Once I get there, then I will start on the next step which is doing one arm planks and building up how long I can hold that position.

Found a good guide. Will begin with building more tricep strength. I’ve gained a lot lately thanks to my work with a personal trainer, but still don’t have the required strength to do a true (good form) one-arm push-up.

Im 135 pounds and like 5’-10. I can do one armed pushups. I think a low body fat percentage means alot when doing these.
Well, it wasn’t strict, but I’ve done it. Several times, so it wasn’t just a fluke.
Um. Wow. Yeah, uh . . . not so much. Couldn’t really even move when I tried it on the floor, so I dragged a chair over and tried it the cheating way. I managed to do it that way, maybe a dozen times all told with each arm. It was feeling a lot less awkward by the end, though.
I think this is going to take some practice.
This is not difficult if you start out with a wide foot stance with your palms and fingers facing inside towards you.
There are people who have the upper body strength to do a one-armed pushup, but they don’t have the core strength to stabilize themselves. Using a wide foot stance puts a bandage on this problem.
Yesterday I knocked out a few one arm pushups probably not with the best for ever but something to kick out from for the next reps , I can also bench 198pounds for 5 reps@150lbs
start doing them off a table probably even bending your back a bit if it’s that hard then more on to lower surfaces untill you have it
also I think frequency of training is very important forget about overtraining just dont hit faliure and train when you are fresh you will have it quite fast I think and skyrocket your bench
I want to do this for the strength benefits. If I can do this, I will probably never have to do bench press again. My plan is to start by doing negatives, first with hands on a bench, then on my knees, and when I can do some actual ones on my knees move on to standard position and hopefully then do some actual one-arm pushups! Of course I will keep working the bench press and other chest movements with weights.
