so I consider this Thing complete.

I didn’t stay the whole time, since it was three hours long! A pretty good deal for only $15. Next time I’ll have to remember to bring a snack.

The format of the class started out with a stretching session. Then we broke into three groups and rotated around three stations – balance/jumping, rolls, and vaults. Then we took a break while they reconfigured the three stations into 2 kinds of wall jumping and another kind of vaulting. I left at the end of this second round, after which they were going to reconfigure the stations once more.

Parts of the class were quite fun, but once I started getting hungry I had trouble not getting frustrated, so I ended up sitting out about half the time. This is why I need a snack! I am a perfectionist, so it was hard for me to totally enjoy myself while being a total beginner. But it was fun – and I think it will be more so next time. Even though I only did about 1/3 of the class’s content, I am still a little sore the day after. I also got a headache later that night, probably from repeatedly hitting my head on the ground doing rolls improperly.

But – it was worth doing and I will probably do the class again.

on Friday night. Could be pretty awesome.

Here’s a video of parkour a friend just shared with me. As he says, it’s a little long at first, but hits its stride about a third of the way in.
