Bought some scrapbook paper. Just have to paste the photos to the paper, so it shouldn’t take that long to complete this goal.
How to learn how to scrapbook
How I did it: i've realised that scrapbooking isn't a skill that can be learn in a day. as the craft evolves you evolve with it. although it is an art it is just like any other its what appeals to you so i just let go and did what i felt was right for me and i'm enjoying it so much.
Lessons & tips: just enjoy there is no wrong way

I need to start printing photos, and organizing which ones I would like to include in the scrapbook. Then I need to find some books or magazines or classes that show how to do a layout.
It’s been 19 months since my baby was born, so I really should get started on making a scrapbook before I start to forget the early milestones.
I’m so excited to finally be starting this goal! Whoo hoo!
I bought a scrapbook to document the early months of my baby’s life. I haven’t decided if I will do the first year or the first two years in one book. It has 20 pages, and I think that there is the option of adding a few pages. I could do a page for each month (and add a few stories for the other months).
I got a good tip, and that is to plan each page as I go along. Not only does it save me money, but I will ensure that I actually like what I produce. I’m going to follow this piece of advice, and gather information on how to put together a good layout.
I already have a few books on scrapbook layouts, tool, but I will need to purchase scrapbook paper, and embellishments.
It was such a relief to learn that I will be able to complete this goal! I always thought that I would have to know everything about scrapbooking right away, be artistic, and patient, but it looks like I’ll be able to pick away at this goal, and do as I learn!
In the future, I may decide to participate in a scrapbook workshop. (I thought that I’d write about it here so that I don’t forget).

i’ve gotten behind in my scrapbooks, especially since most of my photos are now digital on CD rather than on paper in envelopes. however i have scrapbooks dating from 96 to 2002 complete and then some pages from years since then. it’s amazing how much my kids love to look at them over and over (and my oldest is a teenager). it’s a great way to have special time together.
There is a tv show that has good scrapbooking ideas. This week, there was an idea to use a template to make paper flowers. It would be such a cool thing to make! Especially for cards! :-)
There is a tv show on scrapbooking, and an idea that I saw was to group scrapbooks into themes so that you can reduce the number of scrapbooks that you have to make/ or have around the house. I thought that this was a great idea (save time, money, and reduces household clutter).
I think that most of the time, people like to see ‘family albums’ anyway so this is a good way to organize the photos.
From what I can remember the main categories went something like this:
1. Family and Friends
2. Special Occassions and Celebrations
3. Vacations
I think that I would probably use these categories most often. It seems like I take photos around these categories.
Another good idea, I saw was to save duplicate photos for your kids so that when they grow up you can give them a set of photos to make their own scrapbooks.

It’s an over-whelming task, to be sure. I have three scrapbooks: one was bought in 2006 for me, for was bought for me back in 1999 as a graduation gift, and one I got for free from Grandma that has absolutely NO fancy stuff in it. By fancy, I mean most scrapbooks come with colorful pages or neat covers or something. Not this one. It’s overwhelming that most of it is gray, stiff paper that will hold up to cutting and all sorts of thing.
I guess one of the main reasons why I want to get it done is because my senior yearbook IS a scrapbook in the worse way. I couldn’t afford an actual yearbook that year, so I made my own filled with blank paper and asked people to sign it for me. I put in a couple of drawings and such as well, but it was never truly finished. Then, the day I graduated, Ms. Eames, an older English teacher of mine, presented me with a 1999 yearbook as my graduation present.
So, I have a pristine yearbook with no markings, and a senior scrapbook that’s a mess.
I guess the main reason I’m all blah about it is because again; its overwhelming… and feelings of nostalgia hit hard when you’re alone.
Ah well. I ought to put a date on this to get at least one done. My tenth anniversary from H.S. graduation is coming up soon, anyway… sooner than I think.
i am actually a scrapbooker but i don’t do it very well! its more of a relaxant to me than a hobby but i’d like to develope my skills and go that little bit higher to the hobby area!
There really isn’t a whole lot to learn about scrapbooking. It’s all about your technique, your style. If you like the way that you’ve layed the pictures and other designs down then its perfect! a tip that i would give though is remember to look at colours. If you have colours in the background that dont really stand out use them again as mounts behind your pictures. It looks really kewl and pulls the page all together!
