Tomorrow 3 days ago

is the first day of achool. Real school, as I enrolled at the local campus here, as a full time day student, being “serious” about my education! At the orientation last Thursday, the Academic Dean introduced himself as a judge. After his presentation, I cornered him in the hall and peppered him with questions about the local legal community and the law school. Waddayaknow, he teaches there! AND, he suggested that I go to the campus tour, ask for dean Jones, and tell him that he sent me. Small world, huh? I meet with my academic advisor on Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on my classes, and we’re going to go over my audit sheet and academic plan. I know I have at least a year and a half to complete my Bachelors Degree, but I’m thinking of taking four classes for at least 3 semesters and that will knock off one on the end. I’m not sure how that one’s gonna fly, as I just downloaded some information relative to the LSAT, and I wanna review and take a few “practice” tests at home, to see if I can take it in either February or June of 2009. It’s really happening, and it’s so exciting!

Talk about the Lord working in mysterious ways! 2 months ago

Though some sort of internal miscommunication, I was enrolled in the Summer term at my college, although I’d advised my advisor that I wanted to take a break. Further still, for some odd reason, my Family Law instructor mistakenly marked me present during the first class, so I’m not “dropped” as a student! That being said, I’m back on course, starting today, and I must say that it feels kinda good!

It's so cliche 9 months ago

but during my first week in law school, we had a speaker come to DISCOURAGE us from becoming lawyers. I didn’t listen, knowing I could make it different than he described. And I have—but there’s a constant. As an attorney you are under constant stress (even while dreaming, while peeing, while holding your child you will have moments of total PANIC) and you see everyone at their worst…

choose carefully. Speak with HONEST attorneys. Most, are looking to get out. See the JD bliss website for stories. (This plug is from experience… as I am in transition mode now) LUCK.
