I have been rather courageous in decision making.. but need to do it more consistently. Playing safe all the time is not good!
How I did it: If if I didn't think I could do something, I "acted as if" I could... and all worked out great!
If you read my entries, you'll see how I did it. ;-)
Surround yourself with loving, supportive people that encourage you to go after your dreams.
Surround yourself with upbeat adventurous types that want to do fun activities with you.
Lessons & tips: I was once told something by someone, "if you don't know how to do something, do it anyway and you'll learn it along the way."
So many times I've taken this advice, and found out that it was really true.
Resources: Hang out with adventurous people. Write a list of the adventurous things you'd like to achieve... and as you do them mark them off. You'll feel courageous!

I was in a relationship with a man who one day started to threaten me physically… Suddenly, I pushed this man against the wall and said “get the bleep away from me”, then packed and left him that very day.
I was totally stunned that I had the power to push him away with such force! It was very empowering.
This incident happened when I was around 22, was 5’6” and around 105 pounds! It’s amazing when called upon, the power we have within ourselves!
You have to understand that as a child of 14, I’d been stung by a Monterey Stingray in San Felipe, Mexico! It hurt like ‘bleep’ and since then, I’d had a fear of stepping into shallow, warm water on Any beach.
I was on a trip to Belize and while there went on a day expedition to Observe Others swim with Nurse Sharks and Stingrays.
Once we arrived, I observed an elderly lady and young boy from our boat swimming with the sea creatures. I thought “if they can do it, so can I!”
It was a little bit scary but very exciting! The leader of our group even placed a Huge Stingray upside down on my hands so I could tickle its belly! I have a video of it. ;-)

I have realised that being courageous also needs to along with ‘being tactful’ bit. I have had to hold back on the supposed ‘courage’ to give way to some ‘tact’. Sometimes you have to be more restrained than ‘in the face’ for your own good.. I bet this requires some courage too.. so I am good I guess!

To me, being courageous is doing the things I believe in, to walk the talk. There will be things that may compel me from going on the correct path..but correct paths are almost always tougher… want to take the correct path, not the easier one. want to make this choice.
brave_little_toaster is being more courageous..
Courage. How would my life be different right now if I had it? Would it be better? I think it would be. Is this enough to make me be more courageous? I hope. But I’m not sure. What can I do? I have found some quotes about courage and here is one of them, my favorite: “He who is not courageous enough to take a risk will accomplish nothing in life.”
to me being courageous means being who you want to be, growing out of whatever situation has come on you and relieve the stress of every day because in the shell of your everyday life. I need to be courageous and grow into a man, leave this image of a boy behind
I’m so chicken. I’m scared to try new things, scared of failing or looking stupid. Most of the things on this list are things I want to do but I’m too afraid to even try. But doing them in spite of fear is what being courageous is!!!
