    As pointed out by a recent book I read (Fasting: The private discipline that brings public reward by Jentezen Franklin), Christians are called to fast just as much as we are called to pray and give (Matthew 6:1-18; fasting at 6:16-18). That said, I must do it more regular than I have before. I can count the number of times I have fasted in my lifetime on one hand. My goal is to fast the first 3 days of every month from today on.
