I’m probably going to be moving back to Seattle right during the prime season for this which will drain me of my resources, but we’ll try regardless. And if it can’t happen then, then it MUST happen (IRON CLAD) the following year. 8 years ago
I saw in 2001 in Iceland, and it was great (albeit bloody chilly!)
The bar culture in the city is kind of odd
- beer is helluvaexpensive, so people don’t stay for long before heading back to friends’ houses - But the clubs were open late, and great fun was had by all.
We met loads of interesting folks, all of whom spoke near-perfect English.
Oh, and don’t miss the Blue Lagoon.
I’d go back again in a heartbeat. 8 years ago
Midweek Madness. 300 smoothe ones gets you from DC or NYC () to Reyjkavijk () 3 days, 2 nights, airfare and hotel. True, the sun won’t ever really come out. True you arrive Tues morning and leave Thurs night. It only takes 3-4 hours in the air. Icelandic Air. Nozbev said he’s in. M and T are in of course. Michelle’s sister and bro-in-law would be in. I bet I could convince Rob to come too. Toss a few more wild cards in; it’d be like a weirder darker kind of Friday Harbor. Maybe. But whatever the case may be I’ve got to do it. 8 years ago
