-Sometimes it does not need to be anything fancy, just a phone call at least once a week, coz if you want to put monetary value on what they have done for you, even a billion dollars is never enough. Subtly say I love them or I miss them :p
-Give dad $50 in his account secretly when I have extra money, it’s pathetic but it’s the tought that counts.

MsGadget Doing things with my kids that I've been missing out on
I’ve moved back to Vegas where the majority of my family and kids are. It was a big mistake to be gone for 3 years, my grandchildren were small and I’ve missed out on so much in such a small amount of time. I go to little league games, baptisms, birthdays, family dinner, school events, etc. There are just too many to list. They know me now and they love me.
I’m getting to know my new daughter in law, I’m closer to my sisters (we’re as young anymore), going to sports events.
It was just way too sad being away. I’ll NEVER be so far away again.

There are two stories that I have to tell together to make this really fun..
First of all, my daughter is saving money so she just got the kids those little pumkins for Halloween decorations. We saw a bunch of them at a display at the doctors office last week and voted on the scariest, funniest and most beautiful. The people in the office had made about 15 little dressed up pumkin people, like “bat pumkins”, “vampire pumkins” and “princess pumkins”. We haven’t dressed ours up yet.
Then today when I picked up my 3 year old grandaughter from school the teacher told me a great story. They were going to carve a pumkin and she asked the kids to guess what was inside of it before they opened it. Now I have to add that I just had read a book about mammals vs. reptiles to my grandkids a couple of days ago, you know, live birth.
So my granddaughter of course answered the question, “What is inside a big pumkin”? with “Those little pumkins”. Of course.
