Spoke with an old friend the other day. He and his wife are moving to London in about a year and a half for grad school. Yet another reason to visit!

How I did it: Finally I went to London! My bf and I booked an Hotel near King's Cross Tube Station (it was a quiet place, so don't worry, we're still alive :P ). Lessons & tips: Well, we used a Lonely Planet Travel Guide and it gave us a lot of tips, from museum to tube, to food. Resources: As I said, a Lonely Planet Travel Guide. How I did it: I went with a student ambassador program. Most the people in my group were quite immature, so I stuck with the couple of kids that were at my maturity level (I was the oldest of the group at the time). How I did it: Well, I didn't go when I originallly intended to. The trip was cancelled as I had recently left a long term relationship and we were due to be going together. But... I did go a month later. I actually ended up going with my former partner and having a wonderful time. I want to get into and out of London on my own and spend the day there alone. Which sounds like I’m a total loner, im not, I just want to know I can do the people and (scary) tube on my own lol. i think i should be able to do it this summer lol here goes…

London is definately my favourite place in Europe – right next to Paris and Venice. It’s truly amazing and you get there whatever you are looking for: from nightlife to spectacular museums.
It’s truly beautiful. I want to live there when I grow up =)

Busy city, great architecture, lots to do. Definatly worth a visit or two and a great place to stop over for a few days on your way through to the rest of Europe.

This has been a lifelong dream, and out of all of my ‘things’ it will probably be the most difficult. It hasn’t happened yet for several reasons, but I really feel that this could FINALLY be the year!
First off my boyfriend LOVES London. This is a trip that he’d be enthusiastic about making and I know we’d really enjoy traveling there together. He also has a friend (a guy who I met a few months ago and really liked) who lives in London and would be happy to have us as a house guest.
The biggest stumbling blocks are (as always) time and money. I of course as a freelancer can find the time now, but with sports leagues tying up about 7 months of my year and nearly 10 months for my boyfriend, it’s tough to get away. My bf also travels quite a bit himself so it will be difficult to find the time. I think that my best bet is to shoot for a narrow 2-week period at the end of August in which we’re both free.
I love to travel.

I have several places I’d like to see, this is just one. Why? There are several reasons. The silliest is probably just the fact that I am in love with the accents. I guess I understand now how people feel when they marvel at my Southern accent.
