Prof. Wormwood is an assistant professor at the University of Kentucky!
After only a week and a half apart, I got a ticket to Denver and met up with hime. We spent 5 days together and I got my hug. Now, I have to count down 30 more days until I get to hug him again.

Prof. Wormwood is an assistant professor at the University of Kentucky!
He left this morning and we all cried for 30 minutes around the kitchen table, blowing our noses, leaving wads of napkins piled up in the middle. He hardly ever has been on a trip without us, and this one is a big one. He won’t return until August. I’ll go see him in July for 10 days—48 days from now. Then I can mark this goal as done. I don’t know how military wives do it. I guess I’ll figure out how to single parent and take care of a house and cars and manage the money.

They rolled in about 1pm, and it didn’t take him long to find me.
Hug complete!

So much for my time today to get the finishing touches done on the house. I ran to the store for some much needed supplies and when I went to leave my car wouldn’t start!!! Ended up having to have the car towed and paid a whole bunch for a new fuel pump, which shouldn’t even have had to have been changed yet. Poo. My warrenty better cover it, I’m sending it in and the manager said if they give me grief to call him back. Just one more thing I’m glad happened prior to hubby getting home, he doesn’t need to know about this until we get the $600 check back in the mail. I don’t want to stress him out any more than he’s gonna be.

He is officially back in the states. Their plane landed about 10:30 this morning, and now they just have a few days of outprocessing and he’ll be back home with me! This is getting so exciting!!!

I talked to my husband at midnight last night…still in Kuwait…Argh! They should have been in the air about 6 hours prior to that but had a technical issue with the plane and couldn’t leave…isn’t that just what I want to hear right before he goes thousands of miles above the ocean :)
Anyway, he’s on his way home. I’m expecting it will be a Sunday or Monday ceremony now as it was planned as a Saturday or Sunday before they were delayed. The longest part of this whole thing will be the TB test they have to take when they get back. My hubby asked if I’d still love him if he had TB…what a silly question. I can’t wait til he’s home so I can lovingly smack him for silly questions again.
Don’t think that I’m abusive…it’s only a playful smack that defines our relationship. He thinks it’s cute and said he wanted me to accept his proposal with a slight smack on the cheek as if to say “silly, of course I’ll marry you.” Oh what a strange couple we make.

I’ve been off the site for awhile due to a massive dose of life chaos! (Thanks Eris) But, good things come to those who wait! My hubby will be home in a week…he’s finally out of Iraq and on his way!!!! YAY!!!! Thank you so far to everyone who has cheered this goal. It is by far the most important goal I will probably ever have on this site, but who knows what the future brings :)
Anyway, thanks and blessings to you all for cheering me and supporting my while my hubby has been in such a dreadful (meaning the war) place. In one week I’ll be taking this goal off my list FOREVER!!! Thank the Gods for his safe return home.

2 months left!!! I’ll be taking a month off of work when he gets home…I like the idea of a month vacation. Too bad I won’t get paid for it :( But I’ll be with my hubby and that’s all that matters! 2 MONTHS!!!! :D

Since my hubby is in Iraq, they won’t tell us exactly when they are coming home. Okay, they have no idea when, things can change in just a few minutes. So until they step foot off of Iraq (and being in the air doesn’t matter; turning around to go back mid flight has happened) it won’t be final. That is why I have the time frame for this challenge set the way I do. It will probably be 90 days or less until he is home, but I wanted to leave room for error. So, in my conservative estimate…we are finally at 99 days left!!! yay!!! 3 months baby!!!

Now that it’s been about a year without him (it will be 15 months when he gets home) I’m really starting to miss him. Not that I didn’t miss him before, but earlier I didn’t let myself feel it. Now I really feel it in the pit of my stomach and it’s growing more everyday. I just can’t wait ‘til he’s home and in my arms!!!
