FOR SCHOOL WE ARE MAKING CHICKENS FOR EASTER AND I WOULD LOVE TO BE ABLE TO BE ABLE TO MAKE AN IPOD COSY3 years ago
I just finished knitting my first Ipod cozy and it was a really fun project that gives relatively instant gratification. I used the pattern from Stitch and Bitch and it was great. The first one I did, I did in one color rather than working with the stripes b/c the thought of carrying the yarn or cutting and having endless ends to weave in later were both not attractive options to me: the first b/c I’d never done it and wasn’t sure I could (which is my fear with all new skills in knitting) and the second b/c it’s a pain in the ass. The first one I made using Sugar n Cream cotton in a verigated yellow, green, pink etc. It came out nice, but a bit heavy (as cotton tends to be, even in a very small knitted project). The Ipod fits perfectly into it.
I’ve just started I-pod cozy #2 (I’m going to be making a bunch of them and selling them next summer at a craft booth along with other knitted and crocheted items – I hope) and this time I’m using Lion Brand’s Microspun (which is one of my favorite DK weight yarns) in Lime, Melon and Black. I’ve learned to carry up the side and it makes stipe work SO much easier and more enjoyable. Who doesn’t hate having to change balls of yarn every few rows? It’s so much nicer to just have all three colors attached and use the one you need, when you need it. 5 years ago
