I’ve never tried it and I heard all the old writers back in the 1700’s used to drink it. I heard it was legalized in my state and now I really wanna try it! but it’s pretty expensive and I want to wait till the time is right, maybe like new years eve.

How I did it: My ex (boyfriend at the time) visited me up at school and brought some. It tastes like Jager. It wasn't really all that and a bag of chips for me. No green fairies were seen. Read how I did it…
How I did it: As you know absinthe is illegal in most countries, so finding the"real" thing is quite a difficult task. But still, the absinthe sold in most shops is a great way to enjoy something very similar to it. We bought a bottle of french absinthe and we had a lot of fun drinking it, although we didn't see any green fairies. Read how I did it…

How I did it: My friend showed me how to in a bar in France. We ordered an absinthe each, dipped a sugar cube into the absinthe then when it had soaked up some of the alcohol, we put it on a special spoon thing resting on the top of the glass. Used a lighter to set it alight n then ate the sugar cube. Fill the glass up with water and enjoy!! Read how I did it…

He used to drink it when he was young.
They just made absinthe legal in Columbus, OH last couple years. I went out with a couple guys friends one night, and they decided to buy me one since I never had it before. They sold it with the traditional method of dissolving a sugar cube on a spoon over a glass of absinthe. The smell coming from the bottle was pure alcohol. The taste was like a medicine to me. If you like Jagermeister, you would be ok. I didn’t mind it that much, but I wouldn’t get it again. :) I had a buzz after one, so I stopped drinking after that.
I picked up a 750ml bottle of Lucid Absinthe in Delaware last week. Now I’m just waiting for the opportunity to drink it. We’ve got the house inspection on Saturday morning, so friday night is out.
Maybe next week, or maybe I’ll wait until Jess goes to visit her gramma. I don’t know. One thing is for sure, I definitely need sugar cubes.

Since it’s illegal in most areas here in the States, I decided to look for it while I was in Cancun (since also illegal in the States Cuban cigars were plentiful there). I found it in bottles in a couple stores, and purchased it.
I didn’t have any sugar cubes to dissolve, so I didn’t get to do it the traditional way, but drank it straight. The kind I drank had a black licorice or anise taste to it, which is not a favorite flavor of mine. Still it was worth trying since it’s something I’ve wanted to sample for years.
