I can get on the treadmill and jog .25 miles at a rate of 4.5 without stopping, wheezing, calling on Jesus, nearly passing out. I am so proud of myself! I have strengthened my back, legs, and stomach, it can only get better as the months go on.

I am doing this!!! I exercise 6 days a week at the YMCA, I walk vigorously on the treadmill and the elliptical machine. I also work-out on the weight machines. I’m able to job close to 2 minutes, and one day I will have increased my stamina to jog at least a mile and a nice moderate rate.
It’s time again to join the Discovery Health Channel’s “National Body Challenge”. I joined last year and lost 10 pounds. Honestly once you start excercising it really does feel good….....well, not while you’re excersizing, but after. Ok, that’s not true either, here’s the truth, you start to feel good once your body get’s over the initial shock. And you really start to feel good once you get on the scale and find you’ve lost a few pounds. Then you are on cloud nine when your clothes get loose. Now, that’s the truth. If you’ve led a sedentary life, and you start excersizing, it’s not going to feel good. Your body will hurt, your head will hurt, you may even get sick because your body is in a state of shock. But the more you do it, your body will start adjusting. I imagine, if I commit to loosing at least 1-2 pounds a week, by the end of 2006, if I work hard at loosing those pounds I should be 104 pounds lighter. But, being that I’m human and subject to failure, let’s say maybe I would be around 40 pounds lighter. Yes, now that sounds more realistic. However, in all honesty I could stand to loose 100+ pounds and still not be close to thin. Now, this will not be, I repeat WILL NOT BE my New Year’s resolution, ‘cause if I make it one, I won’t be able to complete it. I read somewhere on 43things that there’s a monster who chews up cheers, I’m not sure about that, but I do know there is a monster who chews up resolutions, lol. Anywho, I shall keep you all abreast as to my progress in the weight area.
