Haruki Murakami is my favorite novelist.

I think I’ve read all his books [that have been translated into English]. The quintessential hero of a Murakami story is something of an antihero, in that he’s flawed, but he makes a point of treating people fairly. That means he hears people out, he gives them a chance, and if they try to take advantage of him or impose on him without merit, he says no. This is my new moral model.
