Hi!
Maybe you would like to try those downloadable Turkish lessons for beginners at: http://www.online-turkish-tutor.com/btl.htm
They are free to download, made with Powerpoint and sound files for each exercises are added. It could be a good headstart or prep class for Turkish language.
I’ve been trying to learn Turkish since 2004. I actually learned some lost words, but I didn’t put much effort on learning more and to actually be able to write perfectly and coherently in turkish.
I am now typing this here, and I guess it is a goal now.
How am I doing? I have a friend who speaks very good in turkish. I also have a friend and he is turkish. It is hard but I know I’ll make it!... Last night I had my first lesson. I already knew some words like “hello, how are you? what’s you name?” and stuff like that. Yesterday I learned the numbers, from 1 to 10. I didn;t really learned, because today i barely remember, but of course, this won’t take me a day or two. Also, I went straight to the verbs and grammatical forms.
Wish me luck!!!!
jannab achieving many goals at the same time! :P
Finally I am taking formal lessons! Hopefuly I will do a lot better with my turkish by the end of the year :)
I found this site useful and thought others might too. There are lots of good introductory lessons that explain basic concepts and grammar really clearly.
Im still learning some of the more advanced stuff but this gave me a great head start.
Best of luck with learning Turkish.

3. Bodrum
I had a friend from Turkey at camp this summer. She’s such an amazingly sweet girl and, through tears as we departed, I promised her that I would someday visit her in Turkey.
I would love to be able to impress her with my Turkish when I do. She taught me a few words, of course, but I would like to be close to fluent =]
My father is Turkish and so I have dual nationality by default. I live in England and see myself as totally British. I have brown hair and blue eyes as oppose to the general Turkish black hair/brown eyes. However due to my Turkish nationality status I need to do at least 3 weeks national service, and I won’t be able to survive this without learning the language, so I need to start asap.
If anyone is willing to help me learn, I would be very grateful!
