I’ve been practicing and I went out on the road for the first time.
I did pretty good.

How I did it: Well, the truth is I already have had my driver's license years ago, but from another country. Now, I needed to pass the exam here. Believe it or not, I was stressed. Maybe, because I thought it would be such a shame if I failed. So everybody, first learn and practice the skills, then relax and take your chance. If you fail it is not the end of the world. Just be more confident and try again. And pay attention to "stop" signs, they are re… Read how I did it…
How I did it: after several botched lessons with my parents throughout high school, i assumed i'd never make it as a driver. and for four years it worked out fine that way--"some people are drivers. other's are riders. i'm a rider."--because none of my friends really minded (heh) having to drive me all over who knows where...but in an effort to help me become a less obnoxious human being, my brother in law gave me lessons for a few weeks before i moved… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I was and still is a horrible driver. I failed the road test twice and passed by the skin of my teeth on the third try. After my second attempt, I memorized the test route and the kind of parking I had to do and practiced the exact routine so I'd feel less nervous. Read how I did it…

I already had a license a few months ago.
I actually had it as a goal here on 43 Things, to finally get my drivers license… and I did it!
But I lost it due to some suckyness.
Here in Sweden, you have a 2 year probation time, you can call it.
If you mess up during these 2 years, you have a MUCH bigger chance of losing your license and not getting it back.
When I had gotten my license and only had it for about a month, I was in a car crash.
Icy roads and stupid conditions.
So I lost my license almost exactly one year after I got it… and now I have to do it all over again.
Safe to say, I learned my lesson. I’ll be much more careful in the future, on icy roads… or any road, for that matter!
I’m fifty and not inexperienced with a vehicle. More lazy and embarrassed than anythting else. And the fear of failure (which is really trivial, if I fail on the first test, I’d get it on the second)
I know… this isn’t a stretch goal, listing it just might be the extra push I need to over come my self inertia.

I got my learner’s last Monday, so now I’m able to get my provisional after working some on my log while driving with my mom. I passed the test you have to take to earn the permit, and answered all the questions the MVA asks (such as if I want to be an organ donor, etc.) One step, not much, but it’s a step in the right direction.
Already have my permit, but actually getting the license is the part that requires the effort XP

I can’t take a vacation on april.. well because of the hectic schedule and because i took 1 week off this march and went to cebu and bohol which are two amazing places! anyway, i don’t think i can meet this target and might have to reschedule sometime after march. theres just TOO much going on right now.

I’ve already gotten my student permit and I learned how to drive two months ago. I guess the real reason why I haven’t gotten my driver’s license yet is that I can’t take a time off right now. I mean my BF’s going home this month so I’m taking a time off and we’re off to the beach for a week next month so I’m taking another vacation. I’m just taking too many time offs these days and I can’t really afford them.
So to really set my goals straight, I need to get my license after March so I can take a day off so I’m taking it on April 3. April 3 it is.
I got my permit when I turned 18 but failed the driving portion… three times. A few weeks later I went away for the summer and kind of forgot about it by the time I was back. I practiced here and there. I wasn’t so bad, I just got very nervous on the test. Months later I realized that after failing the driving portion three times you must retake the written portion. I didn’t study the first time so I figured I didn’t need to study the next time. I tried retaking it and retaking it and I just kept failing.
Nowadays I’m just so comfortable with my bus pass. I don’t live far from work, I don’t have to deal with car payments, insurance, gas or parking tickets.
It’s freeing and limiting at the same time. I’m not sure weather Im more or less lazy without a car.
That is why my goal is to get a LICENSE. Car will come next… maybe.

I have this very reasonable (in my opinion) death phobia so I hate to be on cars/planes. I feel very vulnerable and anxious about those accidents and you know, DYING. Unfortunetaly I’ll probably need to have a driver’s license to get a job, in case I’ll have to pick up actors or scout locations or whatever. I love leaving in the city beacuse of public transportation but I guess I can’t run away from driving forever. And it case of an emergency (like being in a cabine with a serial killer) is nice to know I can drive out of there and not run away in the forest falling all over the place and stuff.
