I want "it" gone! 6 months ago

I should really pursue this goal since I have all the symptoms. It is hard because I would rather eat nothing than stop eating sugar, dairy, and wheat. I am also pretty much addicted to coffee, which is not allowed on the candida diet. I am not fond of meat and can’t eat vegetables because they ALWAYS give me gas and bloating. I should really just fast for like a week. It would be worth it.

Help me!!! 16 months ago

I’ve been doing a very strict anti-candidate diet for almost a month (I began on June 21st). I’ve cut out all grains, all dairy, all pork and processed meats, all fruit, all starchy vegetables (including all legumes, potatoes, and corn), and all liquids except for non-fruity herbal tea and water. Essentially, I’ve been living on organic chicken, fish, some organic red meat (though I’ve cut back on this too), fresh vegetables and organic eggs (though I cut those out last week). I’ve also lessened my calorie intake to about 1200/day.

I’m frustrated to the point of tears because not only are my symptoms not any better, but I’ve gained 11 pounds! Does anyone have any similar experiences or advice to share?

Well worth it.... 16 months ago

Okay…it is so, so hard, but I feel SO much better. I’ve lost weight (though it wasn’t my intent) and gone fro a 6/8 to 1/2 without even exercising. I’ve finally gotten well enough to be able to tolerate a little pineapple every so often. Heaven! This diet makes you a) appreciate food like nobody’s business and b) realize how crappy your diet was before. Of course, there is the added benefit of balancing out your body again.

*Mama Bear* doubts she'll be back... but thanks to everyone for everything!!!!

Need another one 16 months ago

Been on one before, and it was life-altering.
I’ve started it several times in the past few years, but just haven’t been committed enough.
Now I’m moving, so the timing just isn’t right… But I need to give myself a realistic date, and just go for it then. I’m thinking for 2 or 3 months… It will do wonders, I know it! :)

I’ve been on the Candida diet for two weeks now. It’s goin’ good (although this weekend I felt I could’ve killed someone for a Pepsi). I thought I’d share a few things I’ve found. First off… I’m taking Candida Forte. It’s an herbal supplement designed to kill candida, and with the diet it’ll rid it out of your system more quickly and effectively.

The amount of pills you take is related to how much candida you have in you. When I was tested, I was told to take 2 every 12 hours. When taking the supplement makes you nauseous, that’s the sign to lessen the dose. You work your way down to the drops…when you get nauseous from just one drop, that’s your body telling you you’re free of the candida. I was also told to take a papaya enzyme twice a day while taking the supplement. I highly recommend getting tested yourself if you plan on taking any supplements though.

Sticking to the diet is hard! But I realize the quickest way to get rid of it is sticking to the diet. My sister went through it and is a great cheerleader as well as mentor.

I’ve noticed that some of you state that you eat oranges, berries, pineapples. These are my favorite fruits! Sadly they are exactly what the yeast in you love too. Apples, bananas, and pears are the “safe” fruit. I’ve heard both sides of the pork story…some say it’s okay, others say it’s not. I take it off the list regardless because of the higher count of parasites. The only thing I would suggest with the meats is try to buy organic, especially with the chicken. A lot of Non-organic meat contains antibiotics, which yeast feeds on. And of course certain fish contain mercury, which you should look out for too.

I was told that if I wanted to “stray” that a little bit of rye bread is a good option. Also very small amounts of honey and/or molasses is okay.

Wow, I’ve rambled on longer than I meant to. And I feel like I’m preaching to the choir. Just landed on this site and wanted to contribute.

Happy Candida Killing!

Again... 20 months ago

The hard bit is sticking to this through major celebrations and holidays. There seems to be a sense of entitlement when it comes to carbs and sugar in our society. The trick is to realise that cake does not equal a reward when it makes you feel like crud (and I haven’t quite mastered this particular trick).

I resisted the tray of homemade brownies today at work and I have been taking oregano oil every day. I feel like I’m doing well this week!

i’m gonna be on this lifelong, so i guess it’s not really on my to-do list anymore, but it hasn’t been that successful ie. never totally cleared things up, so i can’t say i did it.
