Worth doing!
The gardens are so beautiful. When you’re standing there you can truly understand just how Marie Antoinette could never fathom the horrors of poverty. So beautiful :)

I absolutely fell in love with the gardens and landscape. Awe-inspiring! Skip the palace tour (unless you’re really into ornate furniture and historical stuff, which is interesting but it gets kind of monotonous -fast) and rent a bike to tour the grounds. That’s the most fun. Rowboats are also available but you better hope you have someone who can row well or that you can. :) We also rented go-carts, which was cool but your hair gets hopelessly tangled; this is the best option to see more of the landscape. I still enjoyed the bike the best.
Make sure to try the ice cream stand (you can’t miss it)! It’s delicious! Also: bring food before you go in – either in the town you can stop by or from wherever you’re coming from. There isn’t a place to get food inside, unless gelato counts. It’s fun to bring a picnic inside and just sit and stuff.

The interior and the architecture is so incredible, you might not leave yourself enough time to truly enjoy the grounds. I walked slowly, finding little vignettes here and there, like two of the gardeners working on the topiary. Just amazing. Decadently so, of course!

I was stunned by the architecture. I felt like I was walking around inside a movie.
My only regret was only being there for one day.
