We are working on the all cash envelope system and I hope to become debt free soon!! :)
I messed up these last two months; purely overspent. I have put about 150 back on the credit card, so starting over at square one.
Pay Off Goals reordered:
1. Pay off my Credit Card Debt in 1 month.
2. Determine the budget for my wedding and pay for most/all in
cash.
3. Pay off my co-signed student loans.
4. Pay off all of my non co-signed student loans.
5. Save for a house.
6. Save for retirement.
I am currently saving a small amount for retirement. Once I kick the debt snowball into place, I will be able to contribute to that. Also, I need to get a 2nd job. I want to use that money to start the debt snowball and start paying off my student loans.

I am currently in more debt than I have ever been. Need to get a handle on this. Starting by not borrowing any more money. Hopefully will see this number go down over the months/years.
i have been in debt every year since i was 18 (i am now 33!) it would be lovely to get my wage and not spend it paying off debts.
than planned due to needing to save a little for getting my car’s brakes worked on. But, I didn’t let that be an excuse to only make a minimum payment. Today, I made my monthly payment with the equivalent of 4 minimum payments today on the loan I’m focusing on getting rid of. (There are two others after this one.)
be really realistic about some things that relate to my financial world today when I was discussing some potential changes I wanted to explore with my job today. He convinced me that it was in my best interest to stay in my current position and what I would be sacrificing by making a transfer. I started thinking about how if I could rearrange my budget to work with a pretty significant amount less money to make that change, I could be putting a more significant amount toward this goal. If I was able to put a certain amount a month toward debt-reduction and be consistent with that for 8 months and just make the sacrifices to do that…I can accomplish this goal! It’s got me to thinking a lot!
The two things that I am going to aim on this year are 1. Paying for my wedding in cash, and 2. paying off my student loans.
It will still take probably two or three years to pay off my loans, but I really don’t want to have the debt. Once the wedding is paid for (goal is to be paid in advance of the day of the wedding) and my student loans paid off, all of that extra money can go into savings. The debt snowball in effect. fingers crossed that I have the ability to stay focused on this and don’t slip!
Staci is praying to Elmer, the greek god of glue.
student loans are pretty much the only debt i have right now, but i certainly don’t like them hanging over my head. my credit card is slowly being paid off and i think i have about 450 dollars left to pay on it. blaaaah money, a necessary evil for me.
