exhibit my photography

before the end of next year

I’m just now starting to put the prints together as vertical diptychs and frame the singles. I’m beginning to see patterns in my work and know what I’m trying to do.

I was the featured artist at a local First Friday event. The artwork I exhibited included some of my photography, mixed media, and graphic design pieces. I sold three pieces and had a great time!

This will be my second show, and I’m very much excited with anticipation. This will be a collective exhibition, and four of my photos of the Carnival of Venice will be exhibited :)

building a portfolio already!

Last Sunday night, we hung down my exhibition. It was nostalgic, but fulfilling in the same way.

I sold one photograph, and I’m ecstatic since this is my very first solo exhibition!! I want to continue showing my photographs, so I’ll pursue this goal once again before long.

Well… got extended really more because the next exhibitor wasn’t ready to put up his work than because of the success of mine :P

I’ve got good reviews nonetheless. Even though I haven’t sold anything, I still think it’s a success because it’s my first solo exhibit, and I’m new in town, so it’ll take a while to spread the word.

But still, these extra 15 days will hopefully give me a chance to sell my first piece… crossing fingers…

So yeah, got official ‘sorry to inform you…’ letter from the gallery today. I’m kinda bumming about it, mostly because I don’t know how many other juried art galleries there are in my area. I’ve looked into a couple of art shows that are going on this summer, though. I might enter one once my self-esteem is back up to par. Harrumph.

Today marks the first 15 days of my exhibition, leaving 16 days remaining.
I haven’t made any sales yet, so I hope at least one photograph makes its way to a client’s wall ;)
I’ll start thinking of changing the selection of photographs and start looking for a new place to exhibit.

Well this had been on the list for a long time… in fact I got 54 cheers on the goal before actually getting there.

I’m attaching a quick snap I took of part of the photography section of the show (there were more boards of photographs than this… this is just one of them). I had five entries in altogether and received a “highly commended” on one of them. I’m happy with that for a first time around.

The particular entry that got the HC for is the pinkish sunset in the bottom left hand corner… it has a white tag above it (you can only just see it in this pic).
