i’ve actually read the entire Bible but that was about 10 years ago, so i guess i could say i’ve done it. i just feel like at this point in my life, i need to take the time out to learn how to deal with life when it throws curveballs and when i have difficult choices to make…i just want to spend the rest of this year reading the Bible, not so much to study morals but to learn from other’s experiences…because that is what is in the Bible, people experiencing life and either doing things correctly or incorrectly and recieving either concequences or rewards for their actions…and i guess i could use some morals and values along the way too :}

The Bible is a book with many good and virtuous things to learn. People complete books all the time. But how many people have actually read the whole bible? I can’t think of more than three. Why not see what its all about? I want to approach goal without bias. I want to keep an open mind about this because there are lessons to be learned everywhere in life, and why not start with one that has a history of changing lives?

I’ve read quite a bit of it, but want to read it all. How can I know what I believe or think about something that has shaped our history and lives so dramatically without reading it myself? A thinking person canNOT leave the WORD and its meaning up to someone else to define for them. Given spirituality is very personal, every individual’s interpretation should be uniquely different – not canned. I’ve sat in on a Survey of Old Testament course at the local college. I need to get back to it and move through the New Testament – and beyond.

You won’t suddenly become enlightened by doing so, but it’s very much worth it. Save Numbers and Leviticus for a day when you are feeling alert because otherwise you’re likely to fall asleep since they are mostly just accounts of simple facts like genealogies, and how to perform certain rituals.
Numbers is better read after you’ve covered the rest of the old testament books because then you’re more apt to recognize some names.
