I have no idea why I haven’t done this ages ago. Now I have to wait until I get my period after baby.

How I did it: I bought a Ladycup and a Mia cup based on reviews online and just went for it. I wore a reusable pad the first day so that I wouldn't leak in case I put it in wrong. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I did a ton of research and found lots of tips from an online community. I've learned so much that there really was not a learning curve for me. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I had never heard of cups until I saw a DivaCup add in magazine (Yoga Journal) about a year ago. I was intrigued, and started doing research on the different brands. I ended up buying a Mooncup UK. I was able to use it the first time with no problems. I'll never go back to tampons! Cups might seem expensive at first, but I used to use two boxes of tampons per cycle. I've saved a lot of money by switching. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I got a Mooncup from http://www.keeper.com/, and I don't know about comparisons to other brands but this one was relatively cheap with postage to Australia, and it works fine for me. There are many brands to choose from: Divacup, Femmecup, Instead, Keeper, Lady Cup, Lunette, Miacup, Mooncup (UK), Mooncup (Keeper).I decided to try a reusable menstrual cup for convenience and cost reasons (I don't need to buy pads or tampons for the next … Read how I did it…

Placed an order with my local natural food store for a Moon Cup, and it should be here in about a week. I can’t wait to try it!
Sarah is overhauling her list
The first time in almost 8 years where I haven’t used a single pad. How about that!

Lessons learnt:
- That sticky-out thing about 3 inches in that I can barely reach therefore have only just become aware of is called a cervix and doesn’t require a significant google search into all matter of lump-related diseases. No joke. I thought it was way up in there!
- It’s extremely important to make sure you break the suction or else it will most definately feel like you’re yanking out your insides.
- Trying to get some kind of C-fold going on when removing it is also key as pulling something that wide (the rim) out of an entrance so small can end up making it a bit irritated, sore and swollen = bad times.
I’ll definately give it another go next month, but I need to work on the removal bit (see bulletpoints two and three). Overall though, the last week has been the more bareable period I can remember having for a long time! If I manage to perfect the whole technique of getting it out, I’ll no longer be dreading that time of the month :)

No leaks! I’m actually falling in love with this thing. I still have to get the complete and utter hang of it but I’m very very happy and highly recommend them! I use to think I was heavy but when you can see the offending stuff, I can see I’m really not :) Happy.

a few days before my last ‘time of the month’, but I was too nervous to use it. Seeing as I was taken by suprise two days early today, I thought I’d give it a go. It doesn’t hurt to put in although it’s a little bit uncomfortable to pull out. The only problem I’m having is with the seal – I don’t think I’m making the vacuum properly, but time will tell. Trial and error I suppose.

I’ve been meaning to get one for ages to see what they were like, and stumbling across them being sold for £14.95 with free delivery was more than enough to make me buy one. The whole concept sounds great so I hope it lives up to the hype!
Just not my time, I have more important priorities to focus on now. Maybe in a few years.
