    Wow. 2 years ago

I have been completely bowled over by the sheer volume (80 entries and comments at last count!) of people posting me good wishes and saying such kind and wonderful things about me.

I am so humbled right now. I’m so proud to be a part of the incredible and amazing community here. I love how everyone brings their experiences and perspective to other people’s situations, offering support unavailable elsewhere. I hope we all continue to be part of this site for many years to come. I consider myself fortunate to know you all, and to be a part of your lives.

I fully intend to make the most of the opportunities coming my way this year, and to make it my best yet, if for no other reason than so many others are willing me on and I don’t want to let you down! I was feeling pretty confident about things on Tuesday, before the wishes started rolling in, and right now I feel like I could take on the world. If I ever lose my faith, I’ll just think back to this moment. No one can take this feeling away from me.

Thank you, one and all, and especially thanks to Des who created this wonderfully worded goal and forced persuaded you all to do it ;-).

PS Sorry for flooding your subscriptions!

    terra-cotta love 3 years ago

When I die, I want an army just like this, all of my own. And a pyramid also.

Chinese archaeologists have unearthed evidence that a foreign worker helped build the Terracotta Army mausoleum, the resting place of the country’s first emperor, who died more than 2,200 years ago.

Today, I’m amazed by the talent and patience of the person who spliced this together:

I wasn’t feeling too energetic for a few days and wondered what was missing. Took me some puzzling, but i concluded that one of the feelings i really had been missing for quite some time was that of sheer amazement. Watching Fight Club or The Matrix for the first time without expectations, seeing Steve Vai before i got used to how good he is…

The best thing in the world is to amaze yourself. I’m not sure you can stimulate that…
