I watched most of his films except for the 3 doc shorts, fear and desire, killer’s kiss, and spartacus.
So 6 more to go
How I did it: I didn't really set out to watch Kubrick's movies as a goal...I just eventually saw them all. Every one is outstanding - it's easy to see Kubrick's touch in every movie he directs...the underlying theme of "oddness."
I particularly love A Clockwork Orange, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Full Metal Jacket. Who can forget the protagonist in Clockwork or the Sergeant in Full Metal Jacket? 2001 was so ahead of its time its mindblowing - it was made in 1969 for crying out loud! The insights that movie had on artificial intelligence (HAL9000)...uncanny.
I have altered my work PC to respond with various HAL quips: "There's a message for you," etc. Yes I'm a complete Kubrick dork.
Lessons & tips: Killers' Kiss and Fear and Desire are the hardest to find. Kubrick's style is even observable at this very early example of his art.
(Give the genius to come a break when watching Fear and Desire - it's only a little more than an hour long.)

that’s what i thought and joined up, cause i’m unable to get the frst two or 3 of kubrick’s and id like to
Glad I’m done. Much of Kubrick’s work is not really worth the time, but enough of it is that I’m glad I can say I’ve seen every Kubrick film (except for Fear and Desire because lord knows it’s not available anywhere)
I avoided this picture for years. I read the book, hated it, and was uncomfortable with the idea of “ultra-violence”, but the violence was not nearly as bad I as thought it would be.
It was actually kinda watchable.
Good? I’m not sure I’d go that far. It’s still a sickening subject, but well made and well acted.
Holy crap was this dull! For all I know Barry Lyndon has the most amazing and special final two hours of this three hour flick, but I’ll never find out because I couldn’t sit through the first hour.
Crikey!
One more Kubrick to go, the only movie I’ve less looked forward to this one: A Clockwork Orange.
For such a short film, this movie really dragged along. The first half was a bit incomprehensible (the war footage), and by the point the trials started I didn’t care anymore.
Hits most of the points of the book, but is really missing something that made Nabokov’s fiction so special.
Unlike Killer’s Kiss, this is a tight little noir. The narration is corny, but works for the style of the pic. Good early Kubrick. Well constructed.
Notable because it is early Kubrick and the camera work and use of light and shadows are exceptional…but the movie itself fails to thrill and is a bit confusing and lacking in story.
I loaded The Killers, Killer’s Kiss, and Lolita in my Netflix Queue. That’ll leave Paths of Glory, A Clockwork Orange and Barry Lyndon. The last two there I am least interesting in seeing. But, I will.
