Maggief927Working on a establishing a working routine

I hate waking up to dirty dishes, but I get home in the middle of hte night. My daughter seems to have no problem going to bed with dirty dishes in the sink. I was trying to be thoughtful by not doing them when I get home at 2 or 3 am, but I decided this morning that being thoughtful leaves me with a sinkful of dirty dishes. Starting tonight, I will be doing the dishes before I go to bed. If she doesn’t want to hear the noise, she can make sure they are done before she goes to bed. 1 month ago

Maggief927I have added to the list

I am walking the dog every morning and then practicing my violin as soon as I return home. I am determined to continue practicing. I have to learn to focus a little better as I occasionally get distracted. 2 months ago

Maggief927I am trying to walk the dog

twice until I can figure out where the puppy is still getting out of the fence. He has to spend so much time in his crate with us at work all day and night that I like to get him out for a walk twice a day. The walk is only about 15 minutes, but he seems so happy when I get the leash out. I have worked the one walk definately into my schedule, and I try and squeeze the second in right before I leave for work. 3 months ago

Maggief927Adding to my routine list

I seem to work well if I have a plan or a schedule. I waste a lot of time if I don’t have specific tasks or goals set for the day. I am working on getting my entire week mapped out while still allowing time for the unexpected. I hope to be organized and financially responsibl; so that we can always be ready for any opportunity to have an adventure. Currently, we are always “a day late and a dollar short.” 8 months ago

Maggief927Thursdays-get the garbage out

Our garbage pickup is on Friday mornings at 6 AM. I want to get into the habit of taking the garbage out before I leave for my 2nd shift job on Thursday instead of doing it in the dark early hours Friday morning when I get home from the gym after work. I am going to do it right now. 10 months ago

Maggief927My mornings

get up and get dressed with tie shoes, make my bed, check my email and my organizer for the day, start a load of laundry and weed for 15 minutes. 12 months ago

Maggief927FlyLady...hmmm

Thanks to Spatz’s posts, I looked into FlyLady. I am going to give this a try. I seem to have the exact problems mentioned throughout the whole website. I need the prompting and pushing to make the goals I have a reality. 15 minutes at a time seems like a good way to get something done. I am going to go shine my sink and then get ready for Church. It will be nice to come home from church and have a clean shiney sink. 12 months ago

Maggief927Hmmm.... what order works the best

I know that I always get more done around the house if I get started on something as soon as I get up in the morning. Started laundry, washed up leftover dishes from last night. Started cleaning out the refrigerator. There appeared to be a science project gone bad in the back corner bottom shelf. I emptied out all of the containers and threw out all of the small bits of leftovers, but I still have to remove the good stuff and wash the shelves out. I am going to start on that as soon as the washer is done. I want to switch the load of laundry before I get involved in anything else. I am embarressed when I look around this house and see all of the things that need done. 12 months ago

Maggief927Reorganizing my day to fit a doable routine in without creating stress

Spanish practice, violin practice, prayer, gym, laundry, cleaning, weeding, maintenance on the house. Visiting family and friends, church, library, and grocery shopping. Cooking meals for the family. Riding my bike, riding my motorcycle, jumping rope or the park with my granddaughter. I need to develop some sort of routine that fits all of these things into my day/week. I am working on several of them right now, but I run out of day very often. I know it is because I am not making the best use of my time. Working on that. 12 months ago

Maggief927Altered my routine

Getting better about getting things done in a routine manner. I don’t walk around the park. I go to the gym 5 or 6 times a week. I have succeeded in keeping the laundry routine going, and I have made vast improvements in keeping the dishes done. I have not had time to go to the library. I have been reading quite a bit, but I am reading books that I have on my Kindle or in my own library. I need to refocus on my violin and language practice. I make it to church every week. It would seem strange not to go. 12 months ago
