again. UGH!
The other hospital owned by this corporation is unionized. The facility I work at voted against unionization prior to when I began working there. I have an ONA pamphlet (the union), so I suppose that would be the place to start.

I signed my name on the dotted line. That dotted line ![]()
Indicates to this union that i am willing to allow them to speak on my behalf. It would appear that MOST of the nurses in the unit have signed up.
man oh man let this pass this time, let this pass, let this pass.

Now, lemme see…......how can I help?

My fellow nurses won’t join me in this venture. They are all afraid. Well, I understand the fear, but I can’t do this alone. I think I am going to get an education and get OUT of the hospital setting.
Damn, I am so disappointed.

they wanted to talk to me (it’s like talking to the mob…you want to, you know your job will find some reason to fire you, but you can’t resist).
She’ll call back Friday to see if I have anyone who is interested in talking to her.

I work at a 350+/- bed hospital in rural maryland. The administration is making many many changes directly affecting nurses. The worst part is that the nurses are not being included in any decision making. NONE! They are truly “sticking it to us”. many have left for per diem jobs, others are finding other facilities and institutions to work in. It is a mess. I just want one voice, a say in what is happening.
We tried to unionize a few years ago. The effort failed, but it sure brought attention to the need to be heard. I think we should try again.
