Mules are much more calm than most horses. They are basically like big, friendly dogs that don’t mind you riding them. Ok, that doesn’t make them sound much like dogs at all. The point is, they are very even tempered.
This was a lot of fun. sanvea and I took a lovely, guided, perfectly safe, (too safe, maybe) ride in Yosemite. I would have liked to get my mule over a sauntering walk, but that wasn’t allowed. I have to admit that my butt was not in good shape at the end of this ride.

I had to take a load of feed to Cedarvale; saw 2 mules in a paddock on my way down the backroad to the mill. Maybe I could finagle a ride someday? Maybe a trip up Lookout Mountain on one?

Changed my need for ownership to a more attainable goal. I’ll get to ride before I own.

Everybody has heard the story about wanting a pony as a child. I’ve wanted a mule ever since I saw Francis the Talking Mule. I looked them up on the Internet and was fascinated about all the different colors, conformations and breeds, which is more interesting than horses, in my opinion.
