Get a smaller digital camera

so i’ve bought a fuji finepix A610 – and i’m very pleased with it. it is certainly pocket sized, and very light. and i have 2 memory cards that fit, so that’s less of an expense!

i hiked mount Snowdon with it on saturday (another goal), and was glad it was very light, and super glad it was easily pocketable, when walking though clouds, and especially when the rain came down. i’ll make my final verdict when i download the photos. but i think im very happy with my purchase.

i’ve got a great FujiFinepix S9500 – 9 megapixles and fantastic zoom and macro. its great and fully automatic or fully manual or everywhere in between. however, it is no where near pocketable. it just fits in a large handbag. and it scares some people, candid shots in pubs dont often happen, untill everyone is drunk! though it does look very professional, which is a bonus sometimes as people move out of my way.

so, i’d like a smaller camera. pocketable. the 1 megapixel on my phone isnt good enough. i want to carry it everywhere and use it loads. and hike it up mountains. and take it on holiday where my old camera was stolen, i fear loosing another ‘good’ one.

so bring on the FujiFinePix A610 ! – only 6 megapixles (like the stolen one) but anymore would make it too much competition for my proper one!

After saving money, I finially decided to buy myself a new camera. It is the newest Sony Cybershot at 8.1 megapixels. I got it just in time for my first summer trip. Yay!

Last Christmas, my parents bought me the Kodak DX 6490. I absolutely love this camera, however, it is often too bulky to be a go everywhere camera. Well, they came through for me again this year and got me a Casio EX-S500. It’s nice and small, about the size of a pack of cigarettes but half as thick. It’s 5MP and sooooo nice. YAY !!!!

But it would be nice if it were smaller, since I take it everywhere I go. I’m already eyeing the latest model of my camera. It has increased megapixels (from 5.0 to 7.2) – tons of new features (exciting) – is nearly half the size (huge bonus) – uses a InfoLithium NP-FR1 battery (for faster recharge and shutter speed) – and it comes in a sexy color. I’m thinking Christmas or New Year’s sales.

I’d like to buy a small 4 or 5 Megapixel camera for when I don’t feel like hauling my DX 6490 around.
