I have been going to the Opera for 11 years and it is a dream to sing on the great stages; Covent Garden, the Met, La Scala, Berlin, Munich, Bayreuth.
I gave up the dream years ago, but have decided to re-embark upon this dream. I have lessons now with a good teacher (who has to retrain some habits I have got into), but one day, who knows, singing Wagner in some great Opera house.
Like others say I’m not in it for fame either. I would like to be recognised amongst the opera world. There would be nothing more satisfying then singing your role, having all the Bravos from the curtain calls, signing autographs, getting pictures taken at the stage door, then walk off into anonymity.

to become an opera singer, you can accomplish this in 2 ways: Take lessons from a professional instructor, or you can try to learn it yourself. Personally, i took professional lessons and i sort of taught myself. it depends on how you want to set your future. WARNING! dont drink anything cold after your vocalizations. It will mess up your voice!

You are an opera singer!!! Invite people into the shower with you. Acutally I’m not much of a singer myself but I absolutely looooove opera. It gets into the soul.

Most people want to become a singer so they can hang out at the Ritz, hang out with celebrities, and get to give the stupid speech when they hand out awards. I don’t care about fame, or glory, or money… I’m in it for the love of it.
I know that when I’m on stage, there’s no place I’d rather be, and that there is no sound that brings me such a unique joy as the sound of hundreds of people applauding to tell me that I was worth their time. I don’t sing pop, or any of the crappy current music “sung” by tiny little blondes that are neither original nor talented. I sing jazz to amuse myself, and old 30’s and 40’s songs, but primarily I was MADE for opera.
If I had one wish, or could trade my remnants of a soul for something, it would be to even just one night, packed completely at the opera house in Munich. If I ever become anything in the performing community and can choose a place to perform, I want to sing in Munich.
