Market myself

I am wanting to start a home based business, and the way I see it, I need to find an effective way to market myself before I can ever attempt to sell a product. So, does anyone have any effective ways to do this without spending loads of money?

I am a writer from B.C Canada and have published one novel about to publish my next. I have been posting my own music videos to many sites such as myspace and youtube. I sing, edit, write and dance. I would like to market myself so more could see what i love to do. I would love to share my talent with the world. My greatest love is writing and singing they always cheer me up whenever im down.

My senior project is currently to make my reel designed around pitching myself and what I can offer as a film maker.
