I’m close. I talked to my dad about it and he says that he’ll take care of the investors if I can get my hands on a good piece of property in an area where we won’t get robbed or shot.

Running a LAN center is more or less the modern equivalent of opening a comic book store. I know, that’s kind of an unfortunate comparison given all of the stereotypes surrounding comic book store owners (comic book guy on the Simpsons etc.).
Even so, I love computer games, I love gaming on LAN, and if I could scrape together even a livable income doing this I would absolutely go for it.
I am a pretty realistic person though so I am not actively working towards this goal. However, when I get out of the Air Force and finish my degree and (hopefully) start making some decent money this may be a project I start on the side.
Unfortunately for a small business like this to really thrive you have to give 100% to it. Hiring someone to run it for me while I keep my day job would probably result in failure.
Oh well…keep the dream alive.
