Reread all the Harry Potter books before book 7 comes out.

it was so great to reread all of the harry potter books before finishing the series! i will definitely reread all of them again!

actually, I failed too. I bought the book at midnight and just couldnt finish the 4th and just started reading the 7th. I, too, cannot believe it is the end. I am overtaken by the sence of it.

I’ve been rereading these books every time a new one comes out, so this wasn’t exactly the hardest thing for me to do. But, its really quite sad, knowing I’ll never be reading anything new in the life of Harry Potter. Nine years is a really long time to be following a series of books. Its kind of like graduating and telling me that now it really is time to grow up. :)

Following (mostly) the Livejournal read_hp group’s schedule, I finished HBP on July 19. I’m more a casual fan so there was a lot I had forgotten. It was definitely worth a reread, even at those times I fell behind and thought I would never get done by July 21.

using the schedule on the read_hp livejournal group, I finished book 6 last Thursday, then got book 7 Friday night/Saturday morning…and now I’m getting close to the end of the 7th.

I have failed to do this. The seventh book has hit the shelves and this goal has been rendered impossible. I got to the end of book 4… Hopefully, if I’m quick, I can read 5 and 6, then start on 7 before I find out the ending.

I might have to lock myself in my room for a week and avoid all forms of media, but that is not a prospect that is foreign to me.

Monday.

5 more days, I planned to wait to the last days so the whole saga would be fresh in my mind, so I could hang onto the little subtle clues I knew would mean something but forgot over the years…

I’m almost done with the first. I have the rest, but 4 is lost somewhere…I have to find it before I get there, lest my whole project is halted…I hope my brother finds it for me, he’s on book 3 right now.

Friday will be great. The SD pride parade is the next day, and I really want to wear a shirt that says:

I had planned on spacing them out a little more so that I would finish Half-Blood Prince right before Deathly Hallows comes out but I got caught up in the books and just kept going :-) Prisoner of Azkaban is still my favorite (I love Sirius and all the Marauder stuff), and Chamber of Secrets my least favorite. Can’t wait for the new one to come out!

I finished Goblet of Fire a few days ago. Just 2 more left. I’ll read both of them next month and then everything will be fresh in my mind when the last book comes on in July!! I can’t wait!
