I’ve been checking out this site

I have ordered a Merkur HD from on online men’s grooming retailer and today I went to John Lewis in Oxford Street and bought myself a badger hair brush with shaving soap by Kent brushes. I had received the double edged razor before getting the brush so I have had a go already. I must say that the result wasn’t that impressive, but now and again I could feel that I was getting it right i.e. cutting without scraping. Tomorrow I’ll try it with the lather and see how it goes. Apparently there is a bit of a learning curve.

My conclusion is that wet shaving is more of a guy version of papering oneself as a blade shave with men’s shaving soap and a shaving brush feels a lot better than shaving cream. However it takes four times as long as a similar quality shave using an eclectic razor and with an electric pre-shave, making it better suited for everyday shaving. Also ladies you might want to try using men’s shaving soap on your legs sometime, unlike bath soap it gives a very nice and smooth lather that works and feels better than shaving cream.

Turns out Walmart actually had a shaving brush and shaving soap so I can get started much sooner than expected.

I just found and watched an educational set of youtube videos on wet shaving and want to see about switching.

I’ve got this real problem with blades and knives, so I’ve always used an electric razor. I don’t really like it though, because it really irritates my skin.
So a couple of days ago I bought a razor and some shaving gel and today I managed to shave with minimal difficulty. Holding blades near my face makes me sweat a little but I’m sure I’ll get used to it.
