GQkudzu is thankful that the seed catalogs are already arriving.
As someone who’s never tried yoga, my first reaction is skepticism, but then I have to admit that most of the yoga devotees I know are healthy and lean. My flexibility has taken a hit in the last few years. For example, my preferred sleeping position was always on my stomach, but now this is pretty uncomfortable on my lower back. Since there are no nearby yoga classes in my rural Appalachian neck of the woods, I suppose I’ll have to glean the basics from a DVD.

My Dentist recommended yoga, meditation or tai chi to me. I clench + grind my teeth badly and he said it aids in relaxation and over time will adjust my breathing to help with the clenching and tense muscles.
I’ve always been interested so maybe this is the prompting i need to start!

I`ve always been fascinated with this form of activity and always wanted to try it. Did a little research and found a fitness club that is 20 minutes walk from home and offers yoga classes twice a week – I`m more interested in attending those classes once a week and have to call them for more information. I wonder if you have to be advanced to join this class…

Zoe has lots of work to do!
Well, I had my first yoga lesson today and have signed up for 4 more lessons for now. It was pretty much what I had expected, though it was less embarrassing than I thought it would be. Not sure whether I’ll carry on after the next 4 lessons but I might do! =)

Zoe has lots of work to do!
We have researched the nearest yoga classes to our house and it seems to be quite good! We need to check that there are spaces, but if there are then we should be starting a 5 week course this coming week! That means it’ll end by Easter Holidays and then we can start again afterwards =)

This is ongoing. I started when the pool at my gym was closed for maintainence, and therefore my water aerobics class was canceled. Since I was already there, I asked what else was coming up. “Well, yoga starts in 15 minutes.” so I tried it. This was a “Power Yoga” class. Wow! Talk about hard! But at the end of class, my thought was “Well, she didn’t kill me.” So I went back the next week. And continued doing so, week after week. I later added a second day of yoga each week. My mantra for about the first 2 years was, “Well, she hasn’t killed me yet.” I was never a flexible child. I am now able to do more than I ever thought I would. The class has been canceled, and I find I miss it. I’ve found a new gym, and they plan to add yoga classes. Great!

I’m going to go take a class this week-end or early next week.
But I’m going to go for a stretching massage before my class a day before at least because I might be thin but I’m severally out of shape stretching, cardio and muscle wise!

“self care.” Gone but not forgotten. And I did try it a couple of times…

It seems great if you really get into it. Hardest step for me is of course the first one.

Zoe has lots of work to do!
I’ve been thinking of trying yoga for a while now but wasn’t really sure where there was one near me. As I was walking home from uni yesterday I saw an advertisement for yoga classes which are about 10 minute walk away. It was £20 a month I think for weekly classes… There was a website there but I didn’t get a chance to look at it. Will go and have a look when I’ve recovered from tonsillitis!!
