I had an idea to create diamonds on the wall in my daughter’s pink room with white semi translucent paint. Started painting it today. Looks like crap.

Gotta sand it out and repaint. Win some, lose some.

I have white mouldings throughout my house and medium brown carpet. I have a vision for my bedroom, to make that happen I covet black mouldings and grey carpet. Would it look really odd to have a change in just one room? It’s a modern house and all the modern houses I’ve seen have the same carpet throughout unless it’s an unconnected room. I’d have to join the grey carpet to the brown.

I have even considered, in a weak and fiscally irresponsible moment, of changing all the floors in the 2 year old house.

Help my mind is running amuck with ideas! 2 years ago

on the second floor at my shop.. i painted second layer on the wall this morning, cleaned the red beanbag, moved the green sofa from downstairs, hung the curtain and put all the books in the bookcase. next i need to hang photos on the wall.. 2 years ago

the kitchen wall was painted bright yellow. I spent my whole Sunday painting and scrubbing it.. love the color but as always, my dad whined about it being too bright.. 2 years ago

i started taking things off the bookcase and put them in a big box. i want to paint the bookcase black and need to buy paint to do it. i started to clear the room and make more space for painting area and paint what i want to paint; computer tables and bookcase for the start.. but i need to prepare things first and start to do them little by little. i don’t have time and energy to do the whole things in one day. i want this red on the wall in my second-floor living room.. 2 years ago

we (my cousin and I) moved into my sister’s room. we moved just the things we needed; futons, books, lamp, writing table and carpet. i don’t want to have so many things in the new room again. i like to leave it spacious. the first night, we slept so tight. at first i was afraid that i wouldn’t be able to sleep bc the room was nearer to the road but it was not a problem at all. i love the windows which i could leave open all night long and felt the air blowing through the mosquito screen.. i am thinking of taking over the room and use mine as a guest room..

next, i am going to box all the knickknacks on the shelves, take down the shelves and move what i don’t need out of my room.. i intend to do this project 30 mins – an hour a day after closing my shop.. the first day, i’ve seen a big progress already..

in my shop are highly in need of a new, darker and bolder color. the paint on the bathroom wall is starting to peel off and looks unappealing. when showering, i keep telling myself ‘i need to do this, change the color, paint a darker shade and get rid of this boring white’.. the paints in the bedroom are different shades of blue and they start to fade too..

my first plan is to move into my sister’s bedroom which has been left empty and dusty for 2 years since she moved out and gave birth to Phun. after the move, i will start cleaning, throwing things i don’t need, take off the shelves and pegs, buy a new paint and start painting.. i know i have to do it little by little bc i will do it on my own. it will be an ongoing project for this year bc i want to redecorate other parts of the house too.. and everything that i do must meet my budget. i don’t like buying expensive-store made furniture. instead, i like to look for things i already have and make them new and charming again..

It was previously taller with the old wooden color. Seeing that no one was going to make use of it, I asked my dad to cut the legs for me to the height that i can sit on the floor and work with it comfortably. After the legs were cut, I painted with the remaining oil black paint I painted the shelves.. It’s the kind of table I asked my dad to make for me long time ago. It is big enough for me to make a mess when writing, scrapbooking and sewing.. 2 years ago

i rearranged my room (again). i brought home all the planks i painted during the week and asked dad to install them for me.. after we were finished, i love how the shelves looked so much. the deep-ocean blue wall with the pitch-dark shelves.. (photos next week, i promise!).. i put up the same kind of yellow curtains i hung last week on the other side of the room.. open the window and let the wind blow the curtains… my room is my sanctuary..

seeing that i had some paint left, i asked dad if i could paint the rusty kitchen door white.. (i needed to ask him for permission to prevent being nagged by him!) after the painting is done, it felt like a kitchen of a country home.. (actually, it’s a country home!).. as the wall of the kitchen was painted white with primer color only, it needs top coat.. my sis suggested me paint it yellow.. loud and unusual color, not white or cream as my dad wishes.. i told her to go ask for permission from him first. she said ‘do and finish it first. if he doesn’t like it, let him paint it white or cream later as he wishes..) i am going to buy the paint this week and do it on the coming weekend.. (my sis, phun and her hubby will be away so i will be home alone doing the painting and when dad nags, it’s will be only me.. i will take the chance though!).. 2 years ago

i sew and make curtains for my blue bedroom. after dad had fixed the sewing machine for me, i tought it was time do something with the bare windows in my bedroom.. so i made simple curtains out of the fabric i bought in India.. i fell in love with the pattern and color when stumbling on it in a fabric shop in Darjeeling.. i should have bought more..

next, i will go out to buy planks to make bookshelves, paint them during the week and ask dad to install them for me on the weekend.. please i need sunshine to hang my painted shelves!! 2 years ago

the wall was painted light blue by me few weeks ago. it’s still new but it’s not really my color. i didn’t want to spend too much money on my decor project, so i tried looking around the house and found a full bucket of light blue hiding in the storage. it belongs to my sis and she forgets about it after she finished painting her room, so it’s all mine now.. 3 years ago
