I’ve always craved returning to my primeval roots, and living and learning about a totally different way of living.
I agree that our society can be ridiculous, chasing after things that are so unimportant to me. I don’t think people realize how detached I feel sometimes- ike I’m watching this satirically humorous play, and don’t want to be an actress in it.
I want to run away often.
Let’s do it.

I’m going to do it, as soon as I get my citizenship.
Live a simple peaceful life, In latino-american tribes and then in asian temples maybe even in african clans.
The language will be a problem at first, but I’m a quick learner and I love learning.
Good luck to you

I cannot believe that the world was supposed to become so self absorbed that it is beginning to kill itself. I hate the fact I put on make up that makes me ‘prettier’ and wear heels that make me ‘taller’. However I want social acceptance and in doing these things I am ‘accepted’, I am seen to be all the things others want to be. Inside I am miserable, I go to work everyday, to buy the things that I (apparently) need and pay the bills for the house that I should apparently aspire to one day buy.
I wonder if I am a rare cookie, I know I am quirky and that I am popular, I get on well with everyone. Men beep their horns at me (a tribal mating call apparently) and I am approached regularly on a night out…I can’t help but hate society and all the attention that conforming to it brings.
I dream of running away, daily. Disappearing. My doctor says I am depressed and need pills, I suggest that I am less accepting of what others are happy to settle for and believe there is more to life – cliche I know. I have a good job but hate the fact I work to prosper other peoples pockets and reputation – all to survive myself. There is no pride or self satisfaction in that.
I just entered in to Google ‘Live with a Tribe’- take a look at this:
www.tribewanted.com/join
I don’t have the money, but I am sure that if any of you guys do, this will help in the short term, as a little escape if anything.

Tribal life

I stayed with Iban headhunters in Borneo. Here’s a shot of me with the chief’s son, Pig Hunter. I also stayed with a hill tribe in north Thailan’s part of the Golden Triangle.

I have been an English teacher abroad for more than 3 years. Paid jobs in Indonesia and Thailand. Before this, I was a volunteer teacher in remote Micronesia (no electricity for 6 months) and before that, remote Fiji. If anyone can help me with contact information for tribes who want a volunteer teacher, I would be very grateful. I want to live and volunteer between 1 and 6 month periods of time, depending on the place. Now I am in SE Asia, so any tribes in this general world area would be appreciated, thanks,—Rick

Kiowa living
I lived with my Kiowa native tribe for half my life. It wasn’t easy, but if it wasn’t for that experience I would have never had the strength to become the man I am today.
